just wanted to share my summer project, my giant windmark 2200 has been a reliable beater bike for me for years but the original groupset on it was tourney and was starting to show rust. so i gave it a new life. it was 100% worth the effort and it just feels like a new bike, shifting is so crisp, brakes are nice and smooth and id recommend anyone looking to do this to give it a try.

2×7 to 2×11, dropped from 11.2kg to 9.2kg, steel fork (1kg) and alu frame (1.5kg)

had to swap the wheels as the original hubs were for freewheels and not hubs

shifters: teampro 2×11
crankset: ultegra r8000

rear derauiler: 105 r7000

front derauiler: 105 r7000

brake calipers: 105 r7000

  1. Your shifters are installed very very low I can’t imagine riding it like that, I’m sure you feel like you’re heavily falling forward on your bike; you’ll benefit greatly if they were installed correctly

Also the handlebar is installed upwards so yeah, you might have to work on that too and put the shifters even higher on the handlebars
