Maybe grab a piece of rope and tie your front wheel to your frame to keep it from turning

  2. You can buy a frame adapter that will clamp under the handlebars and under the seat and give you an effective straight top tube to hold the bike on the rack.

It’ll work. Just be careful that the exhaust isn’t blowing on that front tire. (I can’t tell which side your exhaust is on.)

  4. I made a trip like this for only 10 minutes and it was scary because the bike is not equally weighed and that is a problem

Frame bar like everyone is saying. I got one to transport this style frame and it made a world of difference. Also I’d pull that basket off before you drive with the bike on the back

I occasinally have had to transport a bike like this and didn’t have a frame adapter, I just took the rear tire off and put in the car. Otherwise the wind on that rear tire will put a lot of torque on the rack, and can malign the wheel and you’ll have to get it trued.

This is killing me. OP has a hitch already and is still using one of those strappy things.

    OP Hitch + Frame Adapter.

Also, look up what happens to tires near exhausts.

  8. I did that once. Sketchy as fuck. Honestly, I would remove the wheels to put them in the trunk and put the frame in the backseat.

  9. I’ve done this and it’s sketchy. You’ve got to worry about the front to back wobble, like the basket is going to want to move forward as the whole bike twists since the center of gravity is so low on the rack. I’ve used extra straps to keep that from wobbling and made it okay but it’s not ideal.
