Looking for some advice – I want to set up my wife’s bike on a home trainer, but the axle type is kind of odd (not even a thru-axle). I know there are adapters for thru-axles, but I’m not sure what to do with this setup.
Ignore the tire, it’ll be swapped for a trainer tire. Photos attached. Any tips on how to make this work would be awesome!

Im gonna say that I don’t think it’s gonna work unless you make some really custom stuff to work on the bolt posing as a through axle
be careful, a lot of home trainers will indeed try to seduce your wife
Woohoo! Now you have a reason for a new bike!
Might need some more pics to figure this out but you can swap out that strange bolt for a proper skewer maybe. Most indoor trainers don’t work with thru axles anyhow as they are more meant for road bikes. I am personally looking more at just a stationary bike for our own home for this reason. Also just for convenience as they take a lot more time to setup. Best of luck OP.
I have used [RobertAxleProject.com](http://RobertAxleProject.com) for getting a proper axle for my bike to work with my trainer. Give it a try.
Can you post some photos showing the axles on the bike themselves?
I think that’s a Trek Thru-Skew, strange hybrid of a quick release and a proper through axle.
Yeah, trek thru skew. If you find a long enough skewer, like for a tandem, you could use that.
Check the referred to RobertAxleProject.com site and maybe consider a different trainer. I use the feedback sports omnium trainer. The bike is secured by the fork and the rear wheel rides on rollers.
