I’ve read that these bikes suck but my commute is only .6 miles in the city and I’m broke. Is this going to safely get me around without breaking down during the ride? I’ll be testing before I buy. Thanks.
As long as there aren’t any serious flaws, it should be fine for .6 mile ride. Keeping it out of the rain and maintained, it should last; but it will break down eventually.
I’ve owned 2 of these and here are the things that went wrong after a lot of riding (over 200 miles at least)
Things to check for:
Wiggle the pedals to make sure the bottom bracket is sturdy
Shift through all the gears front and back
brake test
Wiggle the handlebars, look for any play (in the headset)
I can’t see the drive train, look for rust or fraying of the cables
Horror-Stand-3969 on
It’s fine for 30$. That’s about what one tire would cost
