As a summer project, I decided to convert my old Devinci Caribou 2006 into a 1x gravel bike. Koodos to Devinci for that fat tire clearance, especially up front and the inclusion of IS disc brakes mount. I was also able to fit a mtb 11 speed cassette on my original wheel hub. That 42T was quite handy on those steep forest climbs.
I get it know. Blitzing through the forest is just soo fun. Too bad the season is pretty much over where I am at…

I have a 2011 caribou. Doesn’t support disk brakes, but I often think it would have made a decent gravel bike. Plenty of room for larger tires. Not sure what their reasoning was for not including disk mounting on the newer models. Mine has cantilever brakes, which would probably be fine for mild gravel.
I might have ended up doing a conversion if I didn’t buy my Kona Rove.
