It doesn't matter how much I tighten it (and just today I stripped the nut overtightening), after a while with the torque of pedalling, or hitting a bump at just the wrong time, the axle slips back into what it's decided is it's home position, which puts my brakes out and slackens the chain.

Theres a torque washer that holds the rear igh hub at the right angle, guessing I can't/shouldn't put a washer on the inside of this. Should I sand the drop out down to rough it up? Are there other solutions or options? Thanks all.

  1. You can buy some chain pull or axel pull devices which will slide over your axel and hook over the rear part of your dropout to prevent this from happening. It looks like your frame is also already made to accommodate them.
