I bought an Aeroad CF SLX 7 from the outlet and I received a CF SLX 8 with full Ultegra groupset. As I was assembling the bike I started noticing more and more mechanical issues:
- wobbly front derailleur: turns out the mounting bracket was loose
- I noticed my back wheel was wobbly and then I realized my back wheel through axle was completely loose, so I tightened it up
- rear brake lever needs bleeding
- front brake rotor was rubbing against brake pad
- both front and rear derailleurs require alignment
- handlebars were crooked
I took the bike to an authorized bike shop partner the very next day after delivery to get all these issues sorted out. Hopefully it’s all covered by Canyon. I haven’t contacted Canyon directly about any of these issues but the bike shop did put in a request to Canyon.
I’m honestly feeling a bit defeated because my bike will be in the shop for the next couple weeks and summer is coming to an end here in Chicago. Would you keep the bike or force Canyon to accept a return on an outlet bike?

A couple of weeks for a job that would take me 2 hours? And seriously you need to touch grass with the loose axle. I’m not sure if this is a joke post really.
This needs to be ragebait
🤣🤣
I refuse to believe any of this
I cannot emphasize this enough – PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN BIKE MAINTENANCE.
tools and supplies are fairly cheap. No one is saying you need to be able to adjust spoke tension or balance wheels because some jobs are a bike shop gig but for friggin out loud whinging about loose axles and derailleur mounts?
Gah! I’m choking ony own rage here!!!!
This is just bullshit.
4 out of the 6 issues you listed can be solved in 5 minutes, the others will most likely be covered by Canyon. Be happy about your accidental upgrade.
