Any maintenance tips are highly appreciated!
I’m new to the Grizl and absolutely loving it — the shifting feels incredibly smooth out of the box. Does anyone know what kind of grease it comes with from the factory? Also, for those who’ve had one for a while, is the maintenance much different compared to a typical road bike?

And one more thing — any recommendations for clipless pedals and shoes for gravel riding?

  1. Hey hey hey I also got that same exact bike on June 23 and I’ve already put 856 miles on it!

To be honest, all I’ve been doing is lubing the chain and giving it a wash every once in a while. Still shifts like a dream. I also converted it to tubeless right away.

Sorry no recommendations for clipless since I use crank brothers candy pedals and Shimano MTB shoes since I’m a MTBer first before gravel biker. Not really sure what gravel bikers prefer

I never thought I’d buy one either and then yesterday happened. N+1. Enjoy your bike!

I purchased a Grizl 2 years ago and it is the bike I ride the most! I can’t speak to maintenance vs a road bike, but I can say it is way less maintenance than my mountain bikes. It’s a really solid bike. Also, I ride Spank spiked flat pedals. I wanted to stick with what I use on my MTBs. I sometimes ride single track with the Grizl, so being able to quickly put a foot down is a benefit.

I have the same one, got it back in June and love it. I use crank brother egg beaters. Don’t know what other people think about them, but I’ve had them for 10 years and have no issues with them and like them a lot. Thinking about getting some QUOC gravel shoes as they’re on a big sale right now
