Hi, my neighbour gave me this Cannondale Trail 6 XL bike today as he is leaving the country, and I don’t know what to do with it. It runs but needs some attention, should I go to town on it and upgrade as I don’t own an Hardtail or should I address the issues and pass it on to someone in need of a bike?
My current MTB is a Marin Rift 2 and it’s amazing. Could this Hardtail be as good or as much fun?

why not just fix it up and ride for what it is?
Looks like a 29er. Can make a heck of a nice smooth trail or gravel type of bike.
I have a trek Superfly from that era and with a Reba fork and wider bars it makes a very nice bike to rip through the forest on mellow trails.
What model is it and how much does a bike like this cost?
