So I recently got a Fox Rampage full face and a chin mount and am wondering if the smaller GoPro is worth the purchase. My regular GoPro hero 11 is what’s mounted on it right now, but I’m just wondering if it’s going to make the helmet feel awkward while riding, as I have not ridden with it yet and am going to Northstar to ride tomorrow. Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I’m not sure about this helmet mount, I use the DJI one because it keeps the camera closer to the helmet (at least from the looks of your picture) and upside down, so it all just feels more compact. This one looks awkward. Maybe try a different mount.

  2. Only reasonable approach is to try it out. I ride with a similar set up and I do notice the GoPro, but not enough to deter me. A smaller one would be nice, but I also don’t think it’s necessary for me

Get a chest mount. That heavy GoPro hanging off your chin is going to tire out your neck by the end of the day. Chest mount video perspective is better also.

Seems like a great way to get a face full of camera. But keep in mind, that’s only if you crash. So, yknow, don’t crash.

  5. It’s not too bad tbh, I do it almost every ride. Although the new insta360 mini camera that just came out looks like it might be the next step for people with chin mounts as it’s small and matches if not beats the GoPro flagship quality

Idk about awkward but the stable view from the chest mount is far superior imo
