I’m new to bikes so I’m not 100% sure what these bits are called but what is loose here? The crankset, bottom bracket, or something else?. The entire crank has give which leads me to believe it’s the bottom bracket… (a new bottom bracket and crankset were just installed last week by my local shop and I’ve gone one one ride)

What is wrong here?

Looks like there is play in the bottom bracket. Could be a bearing or something else but I would look there.

  2. Bearings are blown. Spend 25 bux and get a new one, probably another 25-40 for installation

I’m not an expert but I’ve heard that the fallopian tubes can sometimes wear out on these. Or it could be the flux capacitor. It’s hard to tell, maybe ask for new ones at the bike shop.

Well first of all, you are missing 3 spacers between bottom bracket and bottom bracket shell, each should be 2,5mm thick, they forgot to put them in when installing a new bottom bracket.

Tam38 seems to be a fat bike crank set, meaning that it will have a longer spindle than regular. Is your bike frame a fat bike? Anyway if you’ve just had it replaced at a ship take it back there. Some spacing/compatibility issue here.

Based on the fact that it’s a new bottom bracket 4 days ago, per OP: You don’t have enough preload on the bearing. And that is because you do t have the spacers in place.

Take it back to the shop who did this – they need to fix it free of charge.

If you did it, get the spacers and install them.
