The East City Way (ECW) is one of 4 largely segregated arterial cycle routes running out from Glasgow City Centre. It was completed in July 2023 (earlier section 2011/12) and takes you from Saltmarket, just within the city centre, to Calton, Glasgow Green, Bridgeton, Parkhead & Dalmarnock to Newbank in just 15 minutes.
Recorded on Tuesday 26th August 2025 between 1532-1611 hours
Length: 3,889 metres (3.9 km / 2.4 miles)
Route: Saltmarket – St. Andrew’s Street – St. Andrew’s Square – James Morrison Street – London Road – Glasgow Green – James Street – Bridgeton Cross – London Road
This is the final of four videos in which I intend to chronicle the City Ways as they are now, in Summer 2025. They show how quick and easy it is to get around by bike in the city environment, as well as reaching the major city parks for fresh air and a splash of green.
Thank you for watching.
