  1. I assume they’ve seen a fair bit of use? Replacement grips are £12.

    I kept getting blisters from the original grips so I got a set of Ergon GA3 which I have found more comfortable, especially on longer rides.

    Mine did this. Turns out that contact points wear out…

    Replaced with ergon gp1s. No trimming required. Job done.

    They’ll wear in time too.

  3. This is pretty standard for any plastic grips of this kind of materials. It’s broken down by friction, sun, skin oils, sunblock, etc.

  4. I look at those as temporary until you can pick the grips that work for you, like an expensive road bike being sold with generic pedals. For me, it’s definitely Ergon. Have them on both my Brommies w/ no issues on +- 30m commute and longer fun rides.

  5. could be twisting the grips whilst riding.

    happens a lot with people who depend on their grip strength to keep their wrists locked and not folded down.
