2024 Time Alpe D’Huez, stated max tire width 28mm, just for the hell of it I put my wheelset with 32s in there (31.7mm measured). There’s a thin strip of helicopter tape in there, as I do with all my bikes.
There’s no way I’m getting away with this tight clearance, right?

Hahaha, put 10psi more in your tyre and it’ll lock up
Nope. Have to consider debris but also wheel flex.
Definitely not
Yes to the post title, no to will you get away with it.
Nope. Tiny bit of bitumen or gravel and it’s goodnight fork at a minimum
That’s strictly for the Tokyo street life magazine photoshoot.
the fork will probably flex and rub the tire on the fork, not to mention if you were to ever pop a spoke youre definitely going over the bars.
yes you’ll fuck up your fork
My cousin would say it‘s fine. He also buys new frames and forks every now and then because for some reason nobody can understand, he keeps getting holes sanded into them.
Do you have a good dentist? That setup is one stray piece of gravel away from throwing you onto the tarmac.

looks neat though
How badly do you want to eat your teeth / get new teeth?
Honestly a crock of shit that bike frames moved from rim brakes only to still struggle to fit larger tires.
Right.
Some grease on the forks will stop the tyre rubbing
The ISO spec is 4mm. My general guidance is pay attention to the specs.
[ I ruminate on why this spec is set at this here. ](https://www.reddit.com/r/bikewrench/comments/1bow5yi/comment/kwzln70/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
Even 30 is risky. With carbon forks it’s good to give 3mm per side in dry and 4mm or 5mm per side in wet/dirty. Most manufacturers say 4mm or 5mm per side. This is why I bought the ADHX vs the ADH frame. This frame should come with 32mm tire clearance.
The only time I use the “clearance is clearance” rule is with rigid steel forks that have post bolt mounted brakes.
Yes. Way too tight. Before I purchased a new bike I thought mine was too tight and it was nowhere close to this.
Big reason I gave in and purchased a new bike was because I had this fear something getting wedged in the small clearance and my going over the handlebars.
Looks great!

4mm minimum is the rule of thumb, u 2 tight!
Are these 30mm?
Thats fine, but make sure to post pictures of the crash 🍿
send it
Your tire is edging
I LOVE the the idea of owning a Time frame. But 28mm clearance in 2025 is a bit hard to swallow.
And yeah, you’re not getting away with that. Good way to wreck a very spendy frame.
