Bought my first used mtb, which came originally with a Sram nx 12s groupset. The previous owner swapped the rd and shifter to Shimano Deore (M6100?). The chainring is the original Sram x-synch 2 and the cassette is also Sram. The chain is a Shimano HG 12s.
When I bought the bike the shifting was off and the derailleur hanger was bent, I already replaced it. The shifting works fine on most gears but I can't shift from the biggest (50t) sprocket to the one below or at least need to shift two times. I tried for hours but just can't get the shifting to work smoothly on all gears. The faster gears can work smooth but then, in the lower gears, the chain always wants to jump to the next sprocket. Also tried to adjust with the limits screws but no improvement.
I've already learned (and can hear) that the HG chain can't run smooth on a x-synch 2 chainring and causes more wear. So I need the buy a Sram or third party chain.
I've also read that the Deore rd can look bent even if it isn't.
My next step will be to buy a new Sram chain, but first wanted to check with you if I also need a new derailleur or at least cage.

Check your b tension, mech looks too far from the cassette. When in the second largest gear the top pulley wheel should be just barely lower than the largest gear.
It looks like there might be a slight bend in the hanger.
You need a shimano cassette that matches your drivetrain more than anything. A new chain won’t interface with the pulley wheels on your derailleur, and more importantly, that derailleur isn’t designed to shift Sram chains and cassettes.
You need a shimano chainring too but that’s a little less of a priority.
Nope, it’s not bent. that’s what it looks like. Grab a Sram chain and you’re good to go.
When was the gear cable last changed? It’s such a cheap way of fixing many things relating to gears and shifting that I’d do that before you begin indexing the gears. Unless of course it’s recently been replaced.
Do the cable and housing to maximise effectiveness.
