Don't be fooled. If you ride on ice without studs you will go down. You need friction on the tires to keep you upright. If you can't walk on it you won't be able to ride on it with a bicycle. You can ride on snow and slush such as what's displayed here.

Low gear is not gonna help, high torque on the rear wheel causes it to lose traction and the bike just is out of control in difficult conditions.
Im from finland and you guys need a tutorial for this seriously?
