Tignes, nestled in the French Alps, is one of the world’s most famous ski resorts, which offers visitors a unique experience throughout the year. Skiing here is possible almost year-round, thanks to the Grande Motte Glacier, which provides year-round snow.
In the summer months, it transforms into a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts with a broad range of activities amid breathtaking alpine scenery. The Tignes area is composed of five main villages: From the bottom of the valley is first Tignes Les Brévières at 1550 meters, then Tignes Les Boisses (Tignes 1800) by the dam, Tignes Le Lavachet, Tignes Le Lac and finally Tignes Val Claret in the upper end of the valley. Each village has its own characteristics, whether you want to party or to relax – or just enjoy the over 300 km with slopes in the Tignes-Val dIsere ski area, also known as “Espace Killy”. In this video we give an overview of the whole Tignes area and each of the five villages, so it is easier to plan your stay – both if it is in the sommer or winter.
