Can your front derailleur move up any more to accommodate the change?

94 bcd, 4 bolt. A quick Google search of the FD part number and “capacity” will give you a number like “18t”. That’s the rating for how much difference between smallest and largest chainring the derailleur can handle. A competent mechanic can usuall exceed that by a little bit, but the setup has to be more precise, and is easier with a friction shifter than indexed

You’ll need a new crank

LBS has a gauge to measure this. personally, i’d go that route & maybe have them order whatcha like. of course, you can install it yourself. the front derailleur mount has room to move up to accommodate?
