That looks pretty cool actually. What I would like to know is how it affects the sneaker. Is it still comfortabele to walk on? And is the sneaker stiff enough to use with a clip?

Have been waiting for something like this for a long time. Reach out if you intend on doing a sample run, super interested in learning more about how it is done

Do you reinforce the sole? If not, they look like they’d be a soft mess when pedaling

  4. A few thoughts…
    – First, Velosambas exist.
    – Second, why are the spd clips recessed so deep?
    – Third, if this is intended for people to cut up regular cheap shoes, how will the sole thickness be accounted for?
    – Fourth, how will you maintain the structural stability of the donor shoes if 20% of them are cut out of the bottom?
    – Fifth, how are you going to deal with the inevitable jackass that punches a hole through an air cushioned shoe like an air zoom sole?
    – Sixth, how is water resistance maintained?
    – Seventh, how will you manage feathering wear at the cut edges?
    – Eighth, do you expect consumers to make the cuts themselves? (They’ll fuck it up)
    – Ninth, did you consider any of these factors, or do you just live in fantasy land of Internet clout and bad ideas?

Way cool. I just bought some Keen sandals and was thinking “I wish I could add an SPD cleat setup to these sandals.” Keen used to make them….but stopped for some reason. 🙁

  6. I was thinking of doing the same to my NB numeric trainers earlier for a casual look when potting about
