Recently got myself a snazzy 5010, as a graduation present for myself. (Used obviously) After riding around 4000 miles on a hardtail xc race bike, I’m having an interesting time trying to get weight far enough forward on the bike. Gravel here is about as slippery as it gets, I’m sliding a bit through the whole corner. Any comments on what I should focus on and improve here??

Now do it, keeping both feet on, both tires sliding, little counter steer in the front. That’s when it gets fun. 😎

  2. Ever hang on the back of a shopping cart with your feet dangling?

You want that feeling of shifting your weight to your hands to press on the bars.

If you keep your chest up and move your hips towards the bars, you transfer more weight than if you bring your chest down to put your head over the front wheel.

Learning how to manual is great practice for this, because that is exactly how you balance.

Could try dropping the stem 10mm on your steer tube. Typically makes a subtle, but significant difference in this…

You could also try a bit more support in your rear shock (either air or LSC) to help with same.

That’s a fun surface to practice on! Get traction when you get it right or make some adjustments and drift! Good feelings, good sounds & good bike control, either way!
