This surface is part of my daily commute to work. It’s a nice and direct route, only 0.5 miles, but it’s the only part of my commute which isn’t on the road/cycle paths.
My total commute is about 8 miles, so I don’t really want to use any bigger tyres for such a short duration of my ride.
Would you ride this daily with a road bike and road bike tyres? Or get some beefier tyres?
I can circumvent this route entirely, but it adds another 5 minutes and 2 more hills, which adds up if you do that twice a day.
I recently bought some nice new Continental 4 season tyres which feel great, I’ve only been on this surface twice with them so far and they seem to hold up fine, but I would like some other opinions, in case I’m accidentally damaging my tyres much more quickler than necessary.
