  1. Hitting your knees with the bars will happen if your riding to far forward. It even worse if you hit the stem! As you start bunny hopping and doing tricks that force you to lean back and push your body weight towards the rear.. you’ll likely stop hitting your knees on the bars.

    You’ll be fine.

Start lifting weights or doing push ups for upper body strength and you’ll be boosting no problem. More strength helps with lift and bike control early.

You should be fine. I usually get a better idea of bike fit by “standing” over the bike , if bars are about an inch below my waist…its good for me to get “pop” off the jumps and manual position easier.

You might be slightly above or below for your comfort but I set every bike the same hight for my riding style. That way when I switch from 20″ bmx race to 22″ bmx trails bike, 26″ DJ or 29″ MTB they all ride about the same, handle bars are 1 inch below my waist line on all of them.

  4. I’m similar height to you (5’6) and my 20.75′ cult frame is perfect size for me. I have a 21″ doomsayer frame too and while it’s really fun to cruise around town on, I can’t do tricks lol.
I can do them on the cult tho.
