I’ve been very satisfied with my Ultimate, so I figured I’d go for another Canyon for my gravel needs.
First impressions:
- this thing is FAST compared to my old Decathlon road bike which I had equipped with big tires for gravelling. (no big surprises there…)
- I am really liking the cockpit: the drops are the most comfortable I’ve ever felt. In fact for a bike generally labelled as ‘aggressive’ the entire thing is amazingly comfortable.
- Still a bit undecided on the stock Schwalbe tires. Felt great and fast but they slipped in a corner, resulting in a scraped elbow. Could’ve been bad luck though (or the result of me going faster than usual 😉) so won’t be switching immediately.
- i found the color quite boring on the website, but it’s much more beautiful in real life and starting to grow on me.

G-One R are best gravel (race) tires, you can push them to the max on the descents and in the corners, maybe pressures were too high? I found them really sensitive on this side.
