A little grungy?
Don't you dare google 'Sunderland''!
Come to Liverpool Please Guys
The castle is only five pound per person to visit and that ticket last for a year ๐
You couldn't have picked a more Geordie delight than a kebab after a few drinks.
A stotty with ham and peas pud or roast pork and stuffing is home for me (Geordie in exile)
we drink brown ale in newcastle
if you want a proper fancy place you should visit shields road in byker! it is very rich in history and culturally significant in the world ๐๐๐
Desperately trying to find the establishment where you got that specific kebab. I remember eating the same one from the same place after a night out once and haven't been able to locate it since!! If you remember the place or rough area be sure to let me know ๐๐
Actually you missed out. What you see of the castle is actually the Keep. It is bigger inside than it looks and value for money compared to ruins that have nothing. It has a beautiful chapel.
Glad you enjoyed my home city! Come back anytime! โค
haha don't worry getting a kebab at 2am is about as infamously British as you can get
Hi, I know it's too late now for yourselves as you probs won't get another but I always get with skin off the savaloy. The skin in my opinion is gross๐คฎ. Great vid guys!
As a Geordie Iโm pleased you enjoyed your visit, our famous sandwich though isnโt the savaloy dip itโs the Ham and Peas Pudding Stottie ๐
There is so much to discover and love about Newcastle. But by far the best thing about the city is the people. Absolute British gold they are โค
Skin on? Nooooooo
Newcastle is about finding the fun in life.
They are called Savaloy Dips, delicious
Newcastle is a great City – simply the best
I go home to the north east twice a year and my first visit is always to a Dicksons for a saveloy dip everything on. My Irish partner doesn't see the appeal at all.
Geordie Central the Toon, one of the great nights out..
In Britain you could come from a town that is no more than 30 miles away and you would be a stranger – In the US you are a neighbour.
surprised you haven't gone to any sport games yet, it is so British
Kebab at the end of the night is the law after a night out in the U.K ๐๐
A kebab after a few pints is the most british thing you can do
Itโs always sunny in Newcastleโฆ
So funny that what you apologised for is in fact a VERY common Saturday night meal in the UK, especially after a few ales. ๐
Only mad that you missed the second 'A' in carAmel!!
Small but perfectly formed is how to describe the castle.
Kebabs are very British now. You should go back at 2am and the kebab shop will be packed and flowing into the gutter with drunks and half dressed women!!
You seem such a delightful couple. Have enjoyed your videos much more than the usual US visitor ones. Americans usually talk too much without getting to the point. Tia you remind me of a dear female friend who hales from New York. Just to say Gray Street has more Georgian buildings than ant other English cities except Bath.
Pub and kebab after (or Indian takeaway) are the most British things you can do on a Saturday night!
You know the character of a place when the pigeons run around free, in the market, without being eaten ๐
What you see of the castle is only the part called the keep the rest of the the castle is long gone
Newcastle-on-Tyne grew rich from the export of coal by sea to all parts of Great Britain and as a result of the wealth generated has some fascinating architecture. The Norman Castle (built on Roman foundations) was literally sliced in two by the Victorian builders of the East Coast Mainline Railway which links London with Edinburgh, something which wouldn't happen in these more enlightened times. The Victoria Tunnel, a masterpiece of mid-19th Century civil engineering which took loaded coal wagons from the mines down to the river, runs beneath the city centre and is open to the public for a modest entry fee. It was used as an air raid shelter during the Second World War.
