I’m fancying a new wheelset for my Norco Search, looking to shave some weight but not at all cost. I would like to stay below 900€ which is the price I paid for my whole bike.
At the moment I plan to keep riding my Panaracer Gravelking X1 45mm which I find a good option for a mix gravel and road.

I’m a little bit reluctant to hookless design but they are the lighter wheelsets. I’m not sure about deeper wheel rending and comfort with the steel frame neither. I wonder if I will be bothered by mixing Shimano and Campagnolo 😅

So far I have listed:

Campagnolo Zonda GT (cheapest)
Campagnolo Levante (nicest)
Shimano GRX 870 (light and fairly deep, cannot upgrade the free hub in the future)
Newmen Evolution SL XR25 (maybe too fragile, good balance price/weight)
Newmen Advanced SL XR25 (the lightest)
Newmen G36 (good balance weight/height the cheapest carbon)

Thanks for any input !

  1. Light Bicycle WR38s look good on that bike

Those are 40c Raddlers. I paid about what you are looking to spend. Very light, very stiff (in a good way) and transformed the bike. That was my last upgrade.

  2. I use aerycs gcx terra 40 on my brother mehteh – happy with them ( and the 44 manastah ridges)

What’s behind them metal doors? Those little red tags say, “don’t open, frozen zombies,” don’t they.
