  1. My 96 Rock Hopper with slicks is my urban assault vehicle. I love it. We rode KT without suspension for years. Good times!

  2. I would love to find a early 90s Brodie MTB hardtail. There we light AF and so great. I wish someone still made very light MTB frames. Some of us like the flexibility of them (can go fast on road with slick, amazing for touring/bikepacking, perfect commuter, super comfortable, able to do single track and absolutely any gravel. Give me my 1993 Ritchey with XTR and will do better in a gravel race than 90% of the people on gravel bikes (people who are my age anyway!). Gravel bikes are great for gravel, but crap for real off road. Yes, a 28lb modern dual suspension will be my Ritchey, but not if you times us staring from our house and we rode there!

Oh, and if anyone ever sees a very light hardtail for sale from one of the good brands, I will give you a finder’s fee. I am a size 17.

Now find a 90’s hybrid or touring bike with 700C rims and a sloping top tube and you’re going to find even more OG magic.

I have an early 90s fat chance mtb with drop bars and 650b tubeless tires. The thing absolutely rips!
