With all the order issues with YT, I’d probably think long and hard before pulling the trigger on that one

It stay away from YT for a little bit and see what happens with the brand. I’d stay away from canyon for the rest of you life.

  3. Avoid YT with their current issues and get yourself a Propain, burst bike I have ever owned. Canyon are ok but kind of overpriced for what you get

  4. I have that same Strive cfr. I love it. Best bike ever had. I do lot downhill on it. I dont have problems at all.

  5. Canyon geometries are great, i have a spectral CFR with olhins suspensions.

The fact that the YT comes with Ohlins would buy me into it. Ohlins are awesome but are super expensive, getting them on a cpmplete bike is a nice save.

  6. Never had a Canyon, but had a Capra. Pretty fun bike downhill, but climbed like an old pig. Didn’t keep it long. Much happier with the Trek Slash.

  7. If you buy the YT, get it on a credit card so you have some cover

If you buy the Canyon, you’re an idiot

  8. YT – ohlins over vivid’s all day. Canyon frames are hit or miss with durability, and stuff like headset cable routing is annoying.

I would not be worried about a company going out of business – specifically YT who runs the same frame for years. Both brands are loosing money. Canyon lost $38m in 2024.

If these are the only options, YT.

If you haven’t yet, check out these few.

Prices vary a couple hundred to thousand as well as specs, but they’re all DH / enduro / AM 170/160 – 180/180 variants.

I personally own the RM Slayer a30 and it’s been good to me so far for park laps and the gnarlier local trails. I found it for $1,999 thru a Google search. Sun and Ski sports is who it came thru.

Yt is a little sketchy right now, canyon is definitely the more stable brand at the moment although some people seem to have issues with that brand. Unfortunately propain is more expensive with the same spec (5,2k for the Swedish gold version) and mondraker superfoxy are also hard to find with similar suspension. Foxy on the other hand are plentiful with öhlins in that budget but you have 10mm less travel front and rear but its also far better to pedal

  11. I was looking at that canyon isn’t it only available in XL? If so unless you’re extremely tall I’d pass, I’m 6’2 and with it’s geometry I think I’d go medium on that bike, it’s super long
