Biking is just biking. If you’re having fun doing it, you’re doing it right.
I sometimes have fun going out on my road bike and trying to set new PRs on climbs or trying to maintain a certain avg speed on a long ride.
I sometimes have fun with a full face helmet and body armor and spending the day going up a ski lift and then trying not to die on the way down.
But I ride in/around town almost every day (no car) and am rarely in a hurry, it’s just a pleasant way to get around and most of the places I am going are within 3km of home, rarely up to 6-8km, so what’s the hurry?

This is lovely. Slowness as rebellion. I like it. 🙂

Reminds me of Bikefarmer’s rants about the industry and the focus on Racing. Maybe this movement will wake up the brands to other underserved markets. Until then, re-cycle.

This is a disgrace to be on xbiking subreddit IMO – perfect on [bicycling ](https://www.reddit.com/r/bicycling/)though!
A Movement? It’s like calling the practice of using busses *a Movement*…
Homeless guys riding whatever late 90’s bmx or 24″ bike from walmart have been doing this for a long time.
Wild, my way of cycling is now a fad. Well, maybe we’ll get more choices of pedals now, and maybe friction shifting will become more appreciated.
