Meet Sylvene and Guillaume, a Parisian couple exploring the Loire Valley at a very slow pace, even for bike travellers. Hear it from them why you should cycle this route as well, what they enjoyed and what they struggled with. Also, we reveal where you can find an overview of all the bike paths (véloroutes) and greenways (voie vertes) in France, and that it will soon be possible to cycle all the way to the source of the Loire on dedicated bike paths.

  1. Your chat with Guillaume and Sylvene fits with everything I've heard French people on a tour. They take whatever bike they have. Don't fret about not having a 3000€ dedicated touring bike. Just get your bike checked out and go for it. I hope more, and more try it.
Last month I met a couple of young women on a tour from Nantes to Bordeaux following the Atlantic coast. They found their campsites by searching for 'camp in my garden' . I'm not sure of the actual website but google would find it.
They were on a two week touring holiday and planned to return home by train .
    Thanks for the video.
