Come along for one of the coolest adventures of my life! In this video me and my friend Liann kick off our attempt to cycle through Finland. I’m a total newbie in cycling and bikepacking, so I’m just learning as we go!
A few corrections to the video (my brain was lagging while editing): we included TWO rest days in our 17 day plan, not three. Also, the distance of day three is wrong, it was actually 92,7, not 96,7 km 🙂 HAha just needed to be clear.

Ow, ow, ow wrt the backpack. It's going to be absolutely no use to you for this trip of course, but for bikes without the fittings for a rear rack like Liann's I can recommend a Tailfin Aeropack. It connects to the bike via a special axle (supplied with it), then clips to the seatpost. Rock solid in use and a piece of pee to clip on and off. Bit pricey, but you only have one back…
Anyway, enjoying the trip so far and interested to see the ease of finding vegan food on the road. Quite fancy the 'bloody great slab of tofu' sandwich myself right about now.

Gotta bsay, cycle touring with a backpack?! Ouch! I'm from Australia but my daughter lives and works in Finland, so seeing this is keeping a dream alive to get some cycling in over there when I finally get to visit my firstborn 🙂
Old timer's advice… When you're exhausted especially, you need your ears free of music, podcasts, anything, because your ears are your primary defence against traffic from behind. I'm a musician as well as a rider, so I love music but have never listend to music on car infested roads.
