I’ve killed one under my front tire once. I was going at literally walking speed over some chunky rocks.
They’re so dumb. They will sit perfectly safe on one side of the path, then decide right as I get to them that they absolutely must be on the opposite side this very minute!

I’m convinced chipmunks have either a death wish or are just stupid. Both of which could also be true.
