I mean, itās equally frustrating for the cars because thereās basically no painted lines. If there was a defined car lane and bike lane, there probably wouldnāt be much problem.
All I know is people that have never ridden a road bike wouldn’t understand. When they think of a bike they think of any a bike.
This is why I hog the whole lane now. Iām not playing with these cars anymore.

In Denver itās RTD busses that make that move. Really makes you feel alive.
Where I live, this is illegal. If the motorist has another lane, then they must use it to pass.
Of course, few of them care what the law says.

One of the things that I do is to ride in the left tire track. This forces them into the other lane when passing, and if they try to pass me closely (which they often do), then I have some room to the right to move away from them.
This road design is wonderfully dystopian.
The car should calm down and treat you like a human regardless though.

Sorry, if Iām not mistaken the biker is riding in the middle of a lane of traffic assuming the two stress cracks in the road are the ābike laneā. Towards the end of the video however, you can see that the bike lane is lightly painted in on the right edge of the road. So this biker is in the wrong.
Before I get downvoted (even though I will be and probably banned for being right as per usual on Reddit) Iād also like to state that I think having road parking in this kind of place is bullshit. The cars shouldnāt just be allowed to just overwrite the bike lane.

Same here as well. Only about half the people even try to give you room, and out of that half maybe a third give you the legal three foot minimum.
