I can’t help but think that shock mount screw backing out was a major contributor to problem, not the result of it.

Did you ever service the rear end? 3200 miles is a lot of use on a linkage system, no one here can do the value calculation for you. Is the bikes geometry and componentry still relevant to you? What is the cost of servicing, or a new shock, what is the cost of a new linkage and is it available? Are you able to do this yourself or will have to pay for labor? Too many variables for us to decide
