I have a friend with a 2010 Specialized Ruby Expert rolling all Ultegra 10spd. She has worn out the 50 tooth chainring. (She is a beast) I cannot for the life of me find a new 50t chainring for the 5 arm crankset. Are they still available or should I suggest going with a new crankset? If new crankset what would be compatible? I run SRAM and don’t have a lot of experience with the older Shimano stuff.

they don’t make them anymore.
you need to replace it with a tiagra 10spd chainring. it won’t match the colors.
you can also use another brand of chainring.
There might be chainrings that will fit but won’t look like the stock chainring. You’d have to measure the bolt circle diameter. Personally I would go with that since you’ll save hundred of dollars versus a new crankset.
I don’t know if you’re in the USA, but Universal Cycles has some in stock: [https://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=35797&attribute=148057&srsltid=AfmBOop_XQLIfHlSYCQepfDzeU1wxri3yJYXHYcM25Emp0g3GGUecFUh-FY](https://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=35797&attribute=148057&srsltid=AfmBOop_XQLIfHlSYCQepfDzeU1wxri3yJYXHYcM25Emp0g3GGUecFUh-FY)
EDIT: Sorry I see that’s 52T, not 50T.
