  1. 55 grain from a 16 inch barrel which is what most AR15 owners are running is quite capable muzzle velocity of 3000 fps if you are within 500 yards you are not out of the range that the round will be able to tumble at.

  2. I like all ammo and as fast as possible, the flatter shooting the better. Currently looking into 16.5” POF p415 1-8 twist with 77grain ammo, probably going to be doing reloads to get them shooting as close to 3000 FPS as possible

  3. This has to be a troll video to get views and interaction in the comments to put him in the algorithm, and it seems to have worked. Well played sir.

  4. This is a crap take. Calling 55 grain bad/training ammo because it isn't going to cut it at 1000 yards goes against everything about the effective usage of an AR.

Will a properly loaded 5.56 kill at 1000 yards? Yeah…kinda like a .22 LR will kill someone with shot placement. Meanwhile the average gunfight doesn't involve a dude on a shaded bench with a bag aiming at a static jello mold 1000 yards away.

  5. Youtube should take this down for misinformation. A single shot of 55 grain is considered very terminally effective down to 2500 fps (see tumbling) and at velocities below that it is still combat effective (penetrates barriers, incapacitates targets).

And by the way, high pressure ammo (Shell Shock) stretches the lethality of 55 grain to over 200 yards out of carbine. Long live 5.56, long live 55 grain cheap stuff.

  6. 556 sucks. Ever veteran i talked to, said enemies take 5 or 6 rounds to put em down and take them out of the fight. Many had no armor!! One hit with AK round, Ever with level 4 armor, your down with minimum of a few broken ribs

  7. Was in the army 26 years, we definitely used 55 grain ammo, it’s the M193, also used M855 which yes it’s 62 grain. To say the military doesn’t use 55 grain ammo he is either ignorant or lying 🤷‍♂️
