Thanks guys for all the help, my 8yo son is OBSESSED with vintage bmx bikes, he really don’t like new school bikes, he loves all the vibrant colors & crazy geometry& frame shapes people were trying out, so I’m wanting to build him a bike he can bring to bike shows as HIS OWN ENTRY, but I also don’t want to get burned either, what’s THE MOST you guys would pay for this?
Thanks

That price for what you are getting is insane and aimed at finding the one collector that had the same bike growing up and will pay whatever to get one. I workshop trust those forks, the wheels are some complete bike basic stuff and the only thing of notable value are the cranks. That bike new didn’t cost that much.

$1000?!?! Hell no. Those forks are done too. Stressed carbon fiber? Remember those folks in the submarine?

Guy probably thinks because of the profiles it’s worth something…. Honestly I wouldn’t even buy this as a “vintage” bike.

  3. $1000 for an old, shitty GT? Hard pass on that. I wouldn’t buy a GT in the first place. Everyone had profile cranks back in the day too. Those things are a dime a dozen. There is nothing of value on that bike.

Anybody selling a bike for that much should be able to tell you the year. Have a look at the 4 sale section on BMXmuseum.com to find a good vintage bike.
