you aren’t actually whipping. What people call a whip is where you carve off the lip to effectively shorten the air time and go faster (it’s something basically all pro racers do). What it looks like you’re doing is just pushing the wheel out and pulling it back. A good way to start is find a bigger jump, preferably a table top) and start to get the feeling for leaning off the lip, as though your trying to push your kidney/ shoulder into the middle of the jump.
