Good morning. Today is the 12th of August. Uh our anniversary is yesterday after 35 years. There’s Susie. Can you see her? There she is. Uh we are going 29.8 K uh miles to Salsburg. Should be mostly downhill, but it’s kind of like this down down. So anyway, had a nice night. Enjoyed meeting Justin and Inger. have their own podcast. Maybe we can figure out who that is and link that below. So sweet. They’re touring with uh like a 10-year-old and an 8-year-old on bicycles. So, anybody can do this. Have a great day. Wow, it’s gorgeous. All right. Okay. [Music] Community question for the day. Do you like it when people put music in the background of YouTube videos? Please vote if you like it or not. Thanks. It’s gorgeous. Does anybody know what those little ropes going across the river are for? Had to be the Olympics. Yeah, we think it’s for like kayaking competition or something. It was scary. Look this way. Got a little treat on that path. We thought it smelled funny. Okay, so we just had a section of really steep gravel on the edge of the river and it’s so hard to figure out how to ride on those cuz it wasn’t very wide. So I just stuck right in the middle of the path and prayed that nobody was coming on a bicycle straight at me. We’re still going along this river. I don’t remember the name of it, but I bet that was for the Olympics, I suspect. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] There’s our path on that little balcony, whatever you call that. Woo! Be careful not to hit the rail. Oo, it’s gorgeous. [Applause] Glad nobody’s coming. Oh my [Applause] Oops. Let’s wait. [Applause] turn right here. Okay. You slid a little bit. Yeah. Okay. Under control at all times. Of course. [Applause] [Applause] Oh mine, this is gorgeous. [Applause] I think this is the prettiest bike path we’ve ever been on in my whole life. kind of steep [Applause] bench [Applause] bicycle. You don’t think so? More hiking. There’s a big hill up here. So, for the first seven miles, it was 200 ft up and almost 500 ft down. Awesome. Definitely got to get myself one of these. [Music] Susie says I don’t take her to nice places. Uh-oh, wrong direction. It just suddenly, seriously, it suddenly changed. and beautiful. More videos of riding bike on a road by a beautiful river. Are you tired of that yet? So this is our lunch today. We have meat, cheese, bread, and cherries off the bike at this beautiful bench watching the river. [Music] Hello. [Music] [Applause] So far, we are uh 18 miles in. We’ve gone up 700 ft and down, 1100 ft. We took a couple wrong turns. We got to a road closed. And we still think we’re on the path. Just got to the end of that path. And this is a reservoir. A YouTube channel that I really enjoy watching is called Pursuing Mountains and it’s Alex and Liz. They’re a couple from the Pacific Northwest that bike tour. They did a huge Europe trip and they’ve done uh Great Britain and a lot in the US. But they had a very funny thing they said on their bike tour about laundry day. when they have laundry day, one person goes to the laundromat and the other person stays in the hotel room naked until they get back because they want to wash all their clothes as possible, as much as possible. Well, we had laundry day the other day, but we didn’t exactly do that. But check them out. That’s fun. And please put any YouTube channel you enjoy in the comments. This is a Darren appreciation thread. Um, he does a great job at routing. You would not believe the bike path today. He’s probably had a hundred turns to make to try to get on to stay on the path. It’s so complicated. It’s not easy at all. And he spends hours getting these routes ready. So I’m very thankful for his persistence and wisdom and protection and all that. Uh there’s no success for me. It’s just the just the machine. I follow the machine. So these are the kind of routes Kimoot takes us on. It just takes us into somebody’s backyard. Smell the poop and the manure and the hay. Hello. And we just keep on going right through their house in their garden. [Music] Sber. Sber here we come. I think we got about four miles left for a hotel. Very thankful we don’t have to go through the car tunnel. I can’t see a thing in here. It’s kind of exciting. That was kind of fun. We made it to Salsburg. Yep. Okay. Gotcha. Wow, that’s pretty. I don’t know why the bridge is all sparkly, but it’s very pretty. Oh, it’s all the locks. How cute. Cute tandem. Cute cafe. [Music] Yay! It’s here. Yeah, I think that’s it. Okay. Okay. To sum up the ride, we ended up taking 5 hours to ride 30.3 miles, 914 ft up and 1,500 ft down. So, we had so much downhill today. That was great. It was amazing. All the all the bike paths were amazing. Just coming into town wasn’t that pretty. And then we got to the old town and it was very pretty. So we we give Kimoot a hard time because it’s hard to follow sometimes, but it gave us a great route today. So thanks for watching. This is our room in Salsburg. We did find out the hotel was 800 years old. Corner room, bathroom, and it has its own little balcony. You say it’s own. Our bikes are parked right down there, but there’s a gate down there that looks just like the gate in lay miserab. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat.

  1. Hi guys
I prefer both, but when watching bike touring I like it more easy and balanced.
There is a couple who have a YouTube channel " Among the Mountains". Really nice movies to watch 😊
We found you guys today so there gonna be allot of catching up to see where you guys been.
We are Bjorn & Susanne, a couple in the mid and end fifties 😅 who are planning to go bike touring next summer with our Bordercollie Sandy in a trailer.
So know we watch others for inspiration and to see for practical tips etc.
Take care and may the wind be in your back 😊
Best regards Bjorn & Susanne (Stehag, Sweden)

  2. Really enjoying your videos! Some light music in the background is good, but not necessary for most footage
You're both amazing. I want to plan a very similar trip for next year. What are you using for navigation? Kamoot on a phone? And are you happy with it?
    Thank you and stay safe!
