Day 10 of my cycle from Ireland to Italy 🚴♂️🇮🇹 I woke up in my tent, packed up camp, and set out across another stretch of flat French roads. The ride was steady, but what really stood out today were the WW2 bunkers I came across. I stopped to explore, filmed them with the drone, and it added a whole new layer of history to this journey.
This adventure isn’t just about getting from A to B — it’s about the unexpected moments along the way. Whether it’s stumbling across relics from the past, finding a good wild camp spot, or the rhythm of pedalling through small towns, every day brings something different. By evening I was searching for a quiet town to set up my tent, cook some food, and rest before tomorrow’s ride. 🌙
I’m cycling all the way to a friend’s wedding in northern Italy, carrying everything I need on my touring bike: tent, panniers, and stove. It’s part challenge, part freedom, and part discovery. If you’ve ever thought about long-distance cycling, bikepacking, or slow travel, this series gives you the raw reality of what it’s like — the flat roads, the drone views, the history along the route, and the solitude of camp life.
Stick around as I keep posting daily updates of the trip. There are many more miles ahead, and each one brings a new story.
