I wanted to build a “super bike” on a budget. Full carbon, integrated bars, internal cable routing & carbon wheels blah blah blah
I’m $1400 into the whole build and incredibly happy with it. Might be one of my best builds yet. Here is the break down.

  1. Now to explain the frame,
It was on Facebook market place for a long time, the original owner took it to a bike shop. The bike shop told him the frame was junk, because the headset wouldn’t go in. The guy tried to get a warranty replacement, yoeleo said yes, but he has to pay return shipping for this frame. It was very expensive and the guy gave up on the whole frame.
I decided it was worth the gamble as the bars were worth the $160 alone.
Turns out the frame was fine, there was just a spot with extra epoxy around the wall of the headset cup. Sanded down this area of excess epoxy and everything went together perfectly. I went a little further and sanded out a small area that would be considered a void. Had this area filled in with carbon because I’m anal. There was no need to do this, but I would prefer it was solid carbon. The area affected was just the wall along the cup. The cups were perfect and everything else on the frame was rather nice.
The guy lost the headset spacers, yoeleo was able to track down a set for me as this is the older bar. They were a bit banged up, so I sanded them smooth before eventually painting them.
