Heyo, posted before but didn’t get much of a response hah,

2009 Trek GF Hifi, has some issues, mainly front wheel is out of true, suspension needs fluids changed and pedaling is funky sometimes. I’ve fixed a few but considering buying a new bike and seeking the trek at a loss.

Found this 2017 Precept with the upgrades in the picture for $450, trying to get it for $400 since budget is a bit on the tighter end.

Doing largely trails and light downhill, but I’m a newbie, so nothing intense.

Would the Kona be good as a starter bike? Or keep the Gary Fisher and get it up to spec until i can buy a nicer newer bike?
Thanks in advance!

  1. I had a Precept from around that period when I was starting out. It is more than capable for your needs.
