Stuck at a gas station for a while. Crazy storm. I thought I was going to outrun the storm front…

If there is thunder and lightning, and/or heavy winds, better to wait it out.

I hate it when weather happens.

Live in Alaska and same thing. I’m always worried if I stop for too long I’ll cool off and then have a hard time on the last part of the ride. I’m not in great shape, so 30 minutes into my ride I’m usually a soaking, sweaty mess so the rain doesn’t bother me too much, but man when that wind kicks up I’m done for.

A car drove by in the distance?

Southern California rider, on carbon rim brakes. Only once was I caught in a storm, when there was zero forecast of a storm. Scariest ride ever, carbon rim brakes with any moisture cease to function completely.

Just wait till you have to take a massive shit half way through a ride.

I’ve mostly been a commuter. Rode through many of these. I used to pack a waterproof North Face jacket and would just keep on trucking unless the visibility got too bad.
