hello electro heads i’m rich and this is elish and we are here in canary wharf and today we’re doing something quite exciting i think we’re going to prove once and for all that electric cars are the faster way to travel than bikes oh no no no no no we’re gonna prove that electric bikes are the faster way to travel through london than cars well it sounds like this is a fairly open and shut case there’s only one way to test it which is we’re gonna race to hyde park the serpentine get a nice coffee at the hyde park cafe whoever wins basically the loser buys the coffee for them the weather’s looking a little bit in my favor i would say being in the car yeah i was expecting it to hammer it down but it’s looking alright so i think we should actually get cracking before the the heavens open again yeah we should do i’m praying for rain so i’m in the uh say at me electric uh which is a lovely little electric city car with 150 ish miles of range a-list you’re on this very sleek looking machine yes i am on the reese and muller roadster which is designed to speed across these london streets that we’re gonna be racing on today and i have on me a gps inbuilt system uh that is cycle specific which means i’m gonna find the fastest route and i’m gonna beat your ass there’s a police officer over there looking at our car okay we should probably start wash you’re our ref for today mate yes i heard partial in bias ref yes could you give us a three to one yeah let’s do it three two one go [Music] okay oh yeah why not we’ve got this man we don’t even have to hurry don’t tell anyone yet but what these guys don’t know is that i’m going to be taking a tube so when they’re on their little e-bikes in the e-cars i’m going to be on the underground so where is it though i think it’s over the river how am i doing that jesus ah cool let’s go around i’m actually quite nervous now you know i was quite relaxed i mean be honest do you think we’ll win i yeah i think we will win i think about driving in london you have to be on your toes don’t you you do but can you imagine cycling right now yeah sailor’s cycle yeah i wonder how that’s going i’m exhausted already it’s been five minutes i never cycle like this i’m such a plodder but i have to win i have to win [Music] i’m actually bombing it past all these uh boris bikes we are miles ahead really where the hell am i going 43 minutes is that the best we could do i have to go from east to west west to east something like that yeah i’m confused i don’t know what i’m doing here yeah washes ahead of us really wash is ahead of us mate we’ve got some walking to do on the other side he’s at london bridge [Music] mate do you want a uh a battementburg i’d love one mate yeah quite uh for our american viewers um it’s it’s pretty much a law isn’t it in the uk that you have to eat battenbergs without driving definitely drinking rich and coal are having the time of their life right now are you gonna listen to classical music being really smug thank you i’ve got one stream lancaster gate two stops [Music] i mean can you just picture elish right now pedaling thinking i gotta win this i caught up you gotta prove a point we’re getting ever closer i know we’ve got a red light i can see their what’s up location right now and they’re a little ahead of us go green come on washington is so ahead of us oh really on public transport yeah man rocky delight alright cool where now let me check right now where now where now i have to walk 12 minutes bro they’re saying go across the whole park brother my mo farah this is mad it’s got good pace this bike’s amazing it’s so smooth it’s so comfortable to ride i’m really impressed with it this gps system is amazing actually bro oh my god they’re catching up there is that them that’s them washers there oh he’s walking in the park almost guys i’m not tired me tired get out of it brad that one’s good i’ll stop lying to yourself i’m knackered my legs [Music] i think we’re doing pretty good i’ve got it if they win i’m really upset this is really worrying they’re like gaining on us oh they’re in the park [Music] if these are my last words i just want to say it’s privileged to take part in this challenge i’ll forget all of that i think we’re there oh come on come on come on come on come on come on straight on follow the road oh my days so close [Music] as well my sat nav off then we would have won oh my god oh hey man better late than never just made it finally oh i don’t know what happened to you i was here five minutes ago literally man i was told by cold i was serpentine i’m going to so i they’re like a buffoon all by myself thinking of one of one of one it’s pretty lonely but why don’t you get here yeah it sounds like you’re like 21 pass man 26 fast on this no check your digital receipt trust me so you were here five minutes before well wait hang on regardless of what time he was here he wasn’t here so technically exactly yeah no we got we were To be fair, riding the bike at full effort isn't something that anyone would want to do. The car won due to no stress and little effort.

Just brilliant! Add an EUC to the tube! Should clean up nicely, until you get nicked. Also, you need Geoff Marshall to get that tube route sorted ….
OK first off you do realise eating while driving is an offense which could see you get points on your license don't you?
I think you missed a trick here OK car, electric bike, what about motorcycle, and also with the tube even though at present you can't use an electric scooter a kick scooter would have made his trip even faster.
The car gets stuck in traffic but oddly enough there didn't seem to be that much traffic on that day, usually there is a lot of traffic between those two points under normal conditions.
Bikes don't have a problem with parking but if they bring in a system of registration you could find that bikes will end up having similar issues with parking that motorcycles have now, no reason in the world for parking issues with motorcycles as they don't take up huge amounts of room like cars but oddly enough motorcycle parking can be an issue that makes them take longer to get to their destination now, registration of bicycles could see exactly the same issues hit them also.

Why not add an E-Scooter, moped + E-moped, medium trained non-E racing bike driver, experienced bike messenger and a parcour+subway+bus runner, and then call it "pr-E-ium rush" (see the movie)
And add some map with the relative progress of the combatants, at least for some (comparable) checkpoints.
Learning from Top Gear and Mythbusters is not forbidden.
A clear victory for public transport.if he hadnt have been in the wrong place or knew where the underground was at the start. To have made it fair the race should have started and finished at the tube station and not made the poor guy run part of the way .

There's no motorcycle in the race. There are electric motorcycles on the market. They would beat all three without trying very much.
