It seems like there are slightly clicky sounds coming from the smallest second and third gears. I've been fiddling with the tension adjustment but haven't been able to figure it out completely. Am I just obsessed or are the sounds normal?

Try fiddling with your limit screws, the H one, use that to shift to 1 gear easier then go back and loosen until noise disappears, if it doesn’t maybe cable tension too high. If shifting becomes bad then it’s the derailleur hanger.
