I was interested to Southampton who played all season with a 42-31 have gone with us three at the back. They turned around their Brighton game as away we go last season last day with this formation in the last 20 minutes. That direct ball over the top. Short corner once more. Matty James the edge of the area. Bit of space here. Swept in nicely to the Valos the Paloma. That’s a big chance for Rexom. Lovely delivery into the ED6R box and it’s CI who volies it over. Great chance to have for him, wasn’t it? Yeah, it’s obviously something they’ve worked on. We saw a similar sort of corner set piece towards the end of last season at Charlton and it’s a really good little knock back into the box. Southampton are definitely on side. We know that. And it’s the hashtag ask Rexom as always on Twitter and Blue Sky as Ward. It’s a lovely touch. Windust now has got Kakache an acres of space on the left. Robert takes it across and then comes back in. It’s a cooler hit the bar. Goes behind for the goal kick. Wow. I was thinking why’ he giving it to Kakache. That’s why cuz he can hit 25 y onto the bar. Great strike. Well, we spoke about him a lot last week at Gringan just saying he’s got that sort of magic you just always expect. He can just produce these moments out of nowhere and again just seeing the start of what I hope to be a really fantastic partnership almost like a new in the opening what 10 15 minutes of the game as we end the ball back nicely. Kakache with a measured header to win it back. Windas with a great through ball. Mo is on side down a left into the box. Can he get the shot off? He goes down in the area and the ref has given it. Wow. I felt generous that to me at first glance but racks of a penalty. Edwards the player who conceds there is furious. Yeah, it’s a first of all it’s great ball from Josh Windas. I just couldn’t quite see how he managed to pick him out. He gets his head up really well initially. It’s a lovely little poke through and then you just think of keeper Moore is through. I know he hasn’t got too much pace but he’s definitely pushed him in the back there hasn’t he Edwards. It’s quite naive. Two hands and keeper’s always going to read that. Mindas waits for the referee’s taking a long time getting those defenders out of the box. Mazuna has stopped moving now. Here we go. There’s the go ahead. Winda sets himself. Jaws Rexom score. We are leading in the championship at Southampton. The first goal we scored in the second tier since Mick Vintter completed the hattick in 1982 on the day we got relegated. Wow. Tucked it in right not in the corner but Bazuna could quickly enough. Very cool. Well, never in doubt was it? Josh Windas like I said did so did so well to set it up. the ball through for keeper Moore and steps up full of confidence and gets his first goal competitively and erects him shirt hopefully the first of many just watches the keeper as well doesn’t he I think he he reads it has a quick look up it’s lovely little strike might be a little bit disappointed maybe but one n Rexom game on yeah Bazuna not sure whether he was going to go right he was quite flat fuzzed actually wasn’t he the other side holding a line just outside the box. O’Brien left footed gets the go ahead. Stands it towards the penalty spots. Bronze with a header. Oh, just over. That was a chance. He’s got up between two markers and just couldn’t get on top of that. But wow, that was a heck of a chance as a Southampton fans are getting a turning. Yeah, and Lewis O’Brien’s got his hands on his head. He knows what a ball into the box and Brun eyes on it all the way and he just can’t quite get over it, can he? And just put it a bit on the other side of Bizunu. Does well to get in the way of it and then Katcha just can’t quite release that ball with his intention. Here’s Robinson now cutting inside once more. That’s a nice idea and Fraser hooks it just wide. That’s a brilliant attempt by Fraser and he nearly gets a great goal. In fact, a corner. Did Ward touch it? It looked like he had no chance even of reaching that. And there Fraser somehow hooked his left foot around it as we’re going out for a goal. Kick got great contact on it and Edward’s face or shoulder as the ball is fed to the right side. Chance to be worked back and across coming into the Rexon box. That’s a good ball and a brilliant effort by Robinson off the line twice by Cody. My word, you can’t get much closer to that without scoring. Robinson’s brilliant effort heads to the post and then a brilliant block off the line to deny Downs. Windas back on but wow that was so close. Yeah they just find themselves with a couple men over on that side don’t they? It’s a great ball in I think it’s Jack Stevens actually who puts it in and it’s a great little connection from Robinson but he’s settled well second half. Well if you if you have a development plan on paper for any player then Oh is oneonone with a keeper. Brilliant burst. Can he get the shot off? Stevens is there. He goes down in the box and he’s gone down a bit easily, I think. Although it was a dangerous position for Stevens to make the challenge from. Yeah, he was through on goal. I just felt he looked over his shoulder a second too late to know where he was cuz if he gets across him a little bit earlier, then I don’t think Stevens can do anything about it. But his touch takes him and he’s a little bit late. So that’s what gives Stevens the chance to just get an arm across. Yeah. there and the touch if he touches it to his right. Probably wants to get it on his favored left foot. If he takes it on his right, then Stevens can’t do anything about it. But that touch there takes it so that Stevens can get that leg across. I don’t know what’s going on there, but if he’s just premature at the time as Smith tries to bring the ball down. Oh, just ricocheted through. Hardy oneonone with the keeper. Can he finish? No. Great save that. That is one unbelievable save. How he’s got through, I’m not really sure, but it’s fell to him. His touch is good. He’s never quite under control with it. He ends up hitting it. Doesn’t quite catch it. He gets across quashi. That’s a brilliant, brilliant save because that’s rolling in the corner and it’s a fingertip around and he punches the air bassoon. That’s just kept his team in it. Manning, good strike. Oh, what a goal. Well, that is quality. You can’t argue about that. Manning with a brilliant free kick. Ball sides right inside the post. It is. It’s just that as you’re looking down the pit, the left hand side, he can just whip it over the wall and take it away from Wardy. And he does that beautifully. And it’s into that side netting and Ward no chance and 1-1. Wonderful free kick. Six minutes of added time and Rexom need to dig in to make sure now work with their back to goal. Long diagonal by Charles is a brilliant ball in Chance here driven across the face and it’s in South London with 14 seconds left. Win the game. Absolutely incredible. Pop back across. So unfortunate. A hell of a diagonal. A longman can’t reach it. And Archer can’t reach it. And it looks like a tap in. should have scored anyway and a shot hits the ball. But then in this last 10 minutes, it’s just been backs to the walls and we’ve been unable to get out at all. Bard knocks a free kick long, but it’s cleared. And now a chance for a breakaway on the left and a player’s over here, but it’s played in towards down. It’s a very good decision. But there is the final whistle. And well, Will still going crazy on the side of the bench. His first game in charge and he has won the game in the most dramatic circumstances. But Rexom well a heroic effort by

  1. Wrexham was absolutely robbed of that second penalty. The first one was a bit cheap, but the second was too obvious not too call. Might be the first one that made the ref hesitate. First game. Wrexham will definitely compete this year. This is going to be a great season.

  2. unlucky really, goes to show you simply have to put those chances away in the championship, but wrexham clearly created a lot which is a good sign against saints away, huge team.

  3. So Wrexham got 25% possession and had two shots on target vs 10… Wrexham might have enough to stay up but they are going to get out played by all the better footballing teams in this league.

  4. Unlucky against a team that played in the Premier League last season. Success come next April is survival.
If we finish 4th or 5th from, bottom, I'll be delighted.
    Up the Worldwide Reds!

  5. During the first half the talent gap wasn’t far off at all. In the second half we played “protect the lead” parky ball and got punished by immense X-prem quality. Losing 2-1 on the road to a parachute payment team is respectable. I say mid table wrexham finish which would be unbelievable considering how far we’ve come.

  6. People thought Wrexham would be struggling to stay in Championship, but looking how well they did. They have a shot at going into the Premier League itself after this season.

  7. If there was no bias editing Wrexham dominated the first half and should have been up by 3 goals. Secondly how was that second push in the back not a penalty shot !!! The South Hampton free kick was a rocket of a shot and a nice goal .
Wrexham should have sealed the game with at least one of the two breakaways late in the game !!! It's a real shame they didn't come away with a point BUT so great to see all the potential and the fact that they can not only compete but dominate!!!! This should be a great season !!!! GO WREXHAM 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

  8. A two handed push in the back is a penalty all day. Edwards is lucky he was not red carded because that was a goal scoring opportunity. The Ref was quite lenient there.

  9. Foul in the box 71.36 was another penalty and also should have been a red card. He grabbed the shoulder from behind and drove his elbow into the guys back and connect while stepping across his left leg and follows through with a stamp on the guy's calf muscle while he was down. Straight red deserved for all of that. Does the Championship not use VAR?

  10. The same issue from 50 years ago ! Settling for the win and dropping performance 5 mins before the end. They need to play 100% to the whistle just like Southampton to get the rewards.

  11. need more strikers…late substitutions for more on the field would of ensured a win…played to save the game. Never say die in this league as Southhampton showed…but a fair effort none the least!

  12. Dear Wrexham highlights uploader, please go back to not putting the score in the thumbnail. Some of us who are fans in other countries don't get to watch the full games, so the highlights are like a mini game and the thumbnail spoils it. That's why there were no scores in the thumbnails for the past few seasons as we've been through this before. Thanks so much!

  13. Hate game management; call the rules! Ignored an obvious penalty call, not wanting to call 2 against the same team, and totally changed the outcome of this match ultimately. Embarrassing for English football, knowing how many North American eyes watch Wrexham.
