I ended up settling on an Endurace 6 and just received it today. However, while unpacking it I noticed the welds on the frame are **completely** different from how they were advertised to look on the website and from what I’ve seen on some other (I think) US-market bikes like the one I saw [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/CanyonBikes/comments/12bsd8c/nbd_canyon_endurace_6_cold_cactus/).
I’ve seen multiple mentions in this sub of the US-market Endurace 8 suffering from this issue but I assumed this wasn’t going to be the case on the Endurace 6, which specifically advertises the “Alloy frame, carbon aesthetics” as a feature on its [product page](https://www.canyon.com/en-us/road-bikes/endurance-bikes/endurace/al/endurace-6/2732.html?dwvar_2732_pv_rahmenfarbe=R074_P05#:~:text=Alloy%20frame%2C%20carbon%20aesthetics) (the 8, notably, doesn’t):
>This frame combines the practical benefits of aluminium with a look that’s almost as good as carbon. We do it by expertly filing down and sanding the welding seams, so they’re almost invisible to the casual observer.
But the welds here look pretty much the same as my $500 Trek 7.3 that I got 15 years ago.
I’m pretty annoyed — a big reason I went with this bike is because of the aesthetics. I kind of want to just send it back and try my luck with another one, but I don’t know if all of the remaining US stock might be like this. Honestly I’m not even that far from their warehouse here…if only I can just go see them myself lol.

EDIT/UPDATE: Spoke with CS to start a return, he confirmed that **all aluminum bikes** in the US come from a different factory than the EU bikes and only the EU bikes will have the smoothed welds as shown on the website. Lame. Ended up buying a Vitus Zenium (carbon) which was in the same ballpark price-wise.
Side note: I was floored by how good an experience I had with Vitus’ customer team when I had a few last questions about the bike before I pulled the trigger. It was so refreshing to talk to a real human in the US who is as much of a bike nerd as anyone here, as opposed to someone who sounds like an offshore customer service script. Hoping the bike turns out to be just as good!

They’re all the same. Doesn’t matter if you send it back and buy again. The website photo has been photoshopped a little so it’s misleading.
But anyway, I’m personally ok with the welding.
Wow, I have a canyon endurance carbon and love it but I totally agree that the picture on the website is totally different
Those welds look worse than the welds on my $600 Jamis lol
Those welds look worse than the Endurace AL 7 I bought in 2020. Everyone comments on the images on the website which are apparently from the European models. I don’t blame you for feeling cheated.
Return it
yeah i’d return that and get a different bike if they are all like that.
The welds on my Grizl 7 Trail also looks like that but for the price and specs I wouldn’t complain too much
Return it and get carbon or a different brand
It’s normal because the US market never got the smooth welds. There are multiple cases in this sub and it’s a real bummer.
They look like r/lipsthatgrip
That’s a surprising amount of material. Looks like structural stick welding more than a fine Tig n jig setup.
That’s so ugly lol! Pictures 3 and 4 made me laugh so hard. I’m sorry this happened to you 🙁
Sorry, they really do look a bit odd. Maybe they use a different factory for the US market? If you ride for the looks, return it. Otherwise…Well, who cares…
I won’t lie, that looks shit! Wow
They look worse than the welds on my old Decathlon Lombardo eMTB
not in EU / Rest of the world. i have ridden and tried that Endurace 7 (same frame). i’d return it back immediately. it is ugly AF (sorry for being frank)
Looks like my 2021 Endurace AL. Keep it and have fun!
Those welds are awful and I don’t blame you.
