Hey everyone!
I got this bike back when I really had no business something this nice, and now that I'm getting a little more comfortable working on them I'm wanting to get this bike to as good of a state as possibly I can. I've taken the brooks leather bar tape off but will rewrap the bars later. Aside from that I want to try and touch up the small bits of rust here and there and figure out a way to get the saddle to stop from twisting on the front. Any tips or advice welcome!
It's got Reynolds 531 tubing, Nitto bars (not sure which?), Brooks swift saddle, stronglight cranks, 2×7 group (52/36T up front I think), panaracer evo 4 tires, campagnolo hubs, Alesa rims?
Not sure about what the pedals, stem, and seat tube are.
What would you do with this bike (aside from ride it, of course)? Curious to hear your thoughts!

Oh and Shimano 105 brakes, and tange headset! Not sure about what kind of brake levers are on there.
I think just overhauling it and riding it, is all it needs.
It’s got no brazeons for racks or fenders, would be hard and also unkind to try to make it into something it’s not 🙂
Very nice!
Is it a King of Mercia? Or something more flashy? Mercian’s really were superbly crafted frames. My wife had three custom made for her…. I could never warrant the high price (I bet your chrome alone cost one months salary) 🙂

Goddamn that’s a dream machine.
Thought more likely older than 80s and the Reynolds decal suggests it probably is (originality caveats etc).

Nice bike
You need a pair of drop out screws, I think your rear wheel is too far back
Celeste bar tape would be nice as well
Nitto M106 NAS bar is a decent shorter-reach and drop bar, if the fit on those old long ones needs tweaking. i.e. if you aren’t chasing any flare in the drops.
