Hi everyone,

I’m new to the e-bike world and looking for some advice. I’ve found a used Scott Strike Contessa 920 for sale.

  • Mileage: ~7000 km
  • Condition: Slight signs of usage, no scratches
  • Includes: Charger
  • Price: 1100 €

From what I can tell, it’s in good shape mechanically, but I’m not sure how the mileage affects value for an e-MTB like this. Is 7000 km a lot for this type of bike? Anything I should check before buying?

Do you think this is a good deal, or should I keep looking?

Thanks in advance for your help!

To me, 7k seems kind of crazy on one motor. But maybe it’s a perfect motor. They would have to go through multiple drive trains.

  2. I don’t recommend Scott, at all. Their support is terrible, never respond. They use a lot of proprietary parts, which are either too hard to come by, too expensive, or difficult to find a shop with competency to work their bikes. Also, good luck finding a shop that Scott reps actually visit. The bike shop I found that’s a “Scott certified” shop hasn’t seen their rep in two years. Also, I’ve been to a number of bike festivals where the Mrs needed her Scott looked at, they refused, stating they’re “not equipped to service personal bikes” just their demo fleet lol. The only manufacturer I’ve ever come across that turned down looking at their own bikes. They’re trash. Don’t do it.

Edit: word around the camp fire is that they’re struggling financially hence poor support. I hear they’re looking to sunset the US division.
