If you look at any list of the top clubs in terms of merchandising revenue in the world, there’s always going to be one surprise. That club is Leads United. Leads United consistently ranks in the top 20 in the world for merchandise revenue, higher than European giants Celtic, Fenerbachce, and Inter Milan. Even though they haven’t found much success on the pitch as of late, this is still a testament to Leeds being a big club and a symbol of Yorkshire identity with a strong fan base. In the early 1970s under manager Don Revi, Leeds was the hallmark of English football, winning two titles and making a European Cup final where they controversially lost to Baron Munich. Following their promotion this year, it will be interesting to see how one of England’s traditional big clubs performs back in the top division.
