Edinburgh London is a 1530 kilometres (950 miles) self-supported cycle ride across the United Kingdom. The route takes you between the iconic capital cities of England and Scotland.
London Edinburgh London is not a race, but you have a maximum of around 128 hours to cycle along the route up to Edinburgh and then back to London.

[Music] [Applause] [Music] So, the ride was pretty great coming out of London and all the way up till about 50 miles outside of Maltton where it got super hilly. and dark and very windy. So, that was a struggle rolling in there. Had a solid 22 hours of huffing it. And then uh got to have about a 3-hour nap at Molton. Then when I got up in the morning, quote unquote the morning, um it was uh really starting to rain uh and getting cold. So, uh I took off, but then the wind kicked up and honestly I was just already getting hammered. Like my legs like tendons in my uh the back of my leg were killing me. So, you know, the storm came in and uh I was like there’s no way I’m going to pull this off. And uh so I swung back around to Molton and then a little bit later they delayed it for about 10 hours the ride. And uh so I was like, you know what, screw it. And I hop on a train and uh then it got cancelled like two or three hours later in the day. So wow, here I am at the Tower of London. [Music] I’m uh here at Trafalar Square just relaxing. It’s a gorgeous day. Uh, and it’s just been wonderful. This trip has just been perfect. You know, it was unfortunate that the ride ended early, but I’ve spent the last four or five days just riding my bike around London and visiting some spots. And this town, if you haven’t been here, is just incredible. The frequent for a huge city with so much history and culture and art and people, it has such a kind of chill vibe to it. uh unlike say uh New York which has its own beauty of course in Los Angeles they’re totally different but the the constant vibration there is very intense whereas here you have all of those sort of like same attributes that you’d want in a big city but the frequency the movement is just much calmer and uh easygoing believe it or not and uh just the history everything is just so incredibly ly old and fascinating and historic everywhere you go. Uh and it’s just a gorgeous town. Public transportation rocks and uh so I just can’t tell you it’s been such a the best vacation I’ve actually ever had that I can remember in terms of just being totally relaxed and uh enjoying it. So again, cycling is taking me on an incredible new adventure. not just the cycling itself, but what I get to experience because of that. So, I’ll spend this last afternoon tooling around, going to look at the murals in Camden, uh, and then packing up my bike and ready to fly home. So, thanks for coming on this journey with me. I really love it. Uh, I’ll try to post more frequently moving forward. I feel like I’m in a new phase, a new era of cycling. So, thanks a lot, everyone. Cheers. [Music]

  1. Devastating for all the riders that had put all the hard work and money into doing LEL and then hit with a freak summer storm on that particular week. So glad that you could salvage a part of your holiday relaxing in London.

  2. Glad you had a good time despite the cancellation. Summer storms here are always a pain. It's going to hit 35C where I am in the UK today, just 2 weeks since LEL was cancelled for high winds and rain. That's why we complain about weather so much đŸ˜›
